Nick Bacarisse Named Partner at Appellate Firm Alexander Dubose & Jefferson

AUSTIN – Austin attorney Nick Bacarisse has been promoted to partner at the Texas appellate firm Alexander Dubose & Jefferson LLP (ADJ).

“Nick has an innate ability to find the unique arguments that many others may miss and construct a persuasive argument that corroborates his legal point of view. Those are skills that cannot be taught and are vital to being a successful appellate attorney,” said ADJ managing partner Marcy Hogan Greer. “We are delighted to have Nick join our partner ranks.”

Mr. Bacarisse has briefed legal issues of broad public importance at every level of Texas and federal courts, and has argued before the Supreme Court of Texas and other appellate courts throughout the state. He has a deep knowledge of Texas’s unique jurisdictional doctrines and the Texas Constitution. Recently, Mr. Bacarisse was the primary drafter of the appellate briefs resulting in the Supreme Court of Texas’s groundbreaking holding that Texas’s electric grid operator shared the state’s sovereign immunity.

A native Texan, Mr. Bacarisse is a graduate of the University of Texas and Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. Before joining ADJ, Mr. Bacarisse clerked for Chief Justice Wallace B. Jefferson of the Supreme Court of Texas and Magistrate (now District) Judge Silvia Carreño-Coll of the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.
