Ms. Quinones said both prosecutors and lawyers for Derek Chauvin made good points during closing arguments and gave jurors a lot to consider. But she also pointed out that things begin to get trickier the longer jurors deliberate.
“A lot of times, once it gets to a point where jurors are back there a very long time, they start compromising,” said Quinones. That’s a very tricky thing, a very risky thing, when jurors begin to compromise and come up with a verdict, because they’re just simply tired of arguing or deliberating.”
