Flooded homeowner sues bank for recommending he reject flood insurance

James Bell, a Dallas trial lawyer, said he is unsure why the bank would discourage Ali from buying a policy that would have cost something like $200 a year and protected the asset. But he speculated that many other homeowners may have similar claims against their mortgage lenders if they were advised against buying flood insurance.
