“They’re acknowledging this is going to overwhelm them, that there’s not enough money to pay out the damages and they want to reorganize and keep operating,” said Sid Scheinberg, of Godwin Bowman PC, who has represented creditors in bankruptcy cases for 29 years.
“It’s a wise strategic move on their part,” he said. “It prevents them from having to shut the doors.”
