Burns Charest’s case against AviaGames garnered media attention from legal media including Bloomberg Law. Last week, a judge in a California federal court rejected the mobile gaming company’s motion to compel arbitration in a class action.
The case alleges that the video game maker duped players into believing they were playing with other players when they were playing against bots.
Burns Charest partner Mathew S. Tripolitsiotis, representing the players in the class action, told The Recorder, a California legal newspaper, that some of his clients had lost up to “six figures.”
“These people were duped,” Mr. Tripolitsiotis said.
