Dallas/Houston – Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP, is pleased to announce that 47 Firm attorneys have been named to the 2011 Texas Super Lawyers list – a distinction limited to just five percent of Texas lawyers.

Partner Richard O. Faulk, Chair of the Firm’s Litigation Practice, received special recognition for his environmental work by earning a place among the Top 100 Lawyers in Houston. Additionally, of the 47 Gardere attorneys selected to the 2011 list, 18 have been recognized each of the nine years the list has been compiled.

“Richard is a respected leader who is highly regarded among his professional peers, so his inclusion among the top attorneys in Houston should not surprise anyone,” says Gardere Managing Partner Stephen D. Good, who this year earned his third selection to the listing for his Tax Practice. “He, as well as the others who have been recognized on the Super Lawyers listing, are dedicated to their clients, their practice and the profession.”

The Texas Super Lawyers list will appear as part of the October 2011 issue of Texas Monthly, as well as the standalone Texas Super Lawyers magazine, published by Thomson Reuters. Selections are based on peer nominations made by more than 70,000 attorneys from across the state. An attorney-led research team then evaluates the candidates and determines the final list.

The Gardere attorneys named to this year’s list were included based on their work in 20 practice areas: alternative dispute resolution, antitrust litigation, bankruptcy and creditor/debtor rights, business litigation, business/corporate, civil litigation defense, construction/surety, white collar criminal defense, employment and labor, employment litigation/defense, environment, estate planning and probate, family law, insurance coverage, intellectual property, intellectual property litigation, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, securities and corporate finance, and tax.

Earlier this year, 15 Gardere attorneys were chosen to appear on the Texas Rising Stars list, a companion to Texas Super Lawyers. The Rising Stars listing recognizes the top up-and-coming Texas attorneys who are 40 or younger and those who have been in practice for fewer than 10 years.
