Texas attorneys T. John "Johnny" Ward Jr. and T. John Ward, partners in the business litigation and intellectual property law firm of Ward & Smith, both are being recognized among the state's top legal counsel in the 2012 Texas Super Lawyers list.
Recognized for his work in intellectual property litigation, the younger Ward is among a select group of attorneys to have been named to the Texas Super Lawyers listing each of the past 10 years.
This is the first selection for the elder Ward, who joined Ward & Smith in the fall of 2011 after 12 years as Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas in Marshall. The elder Ward also is recognized in Texas Super Lawyers based on his work in intellectual property matters. In addition to his work in intellectual property cases, he also handles oil and gas litigation and serves as a mediator in a variety of cases.
"It was an honor to be selected to the inaugural Texas Super Lawyers list in 2003, and it's somewhat humbling to realize my peers in the legal community have included me in this group for a full decade," said the younger Ward. "Even more satisfying is being recognized alongside my father, who has more intellectual property expertise than practically anyone."
