The Dallas Morning News:
A woman injured by falling snow and ice at Cowboys Stadium a few days before Super Bowl XLV filed a lawsuit this week accusing planners of negligence.
At least six people were hurt Feb. 4 when warming weather melted snow and ice that accumulated on the stadium roof during storms earlier that week. This appears to be the first lawsuit related to those injuries just before the Feb. 6 game in Arlington.
The suit described how Tina Kitts, who was giving a tour to injured military veterans, was "suddenly and violently engulfed in an avalanche of blocks of ice and snow."
....
The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in Dallas County and names the National Football League, Dallas Cowboys, Cowboys Stadium, security contractor S.A.F.E. Management and Super Bowl architect Populous as defendants. Officials with the NFL, Cowboys and Populous declined to comment about the pending litigation. A representative of S.A.F.E. Management couldn't be reached for comment.
Kitts' husband, Steve, is also a plaintiff in the case and claims a loss of "household services" and "loss of consortium" — such as companionship, sexual relations and other elements "necessary for a successful marriage."
The lawsuit does not specify the amount of compensation sought by the Kittses, whose address is listed in public records as in Euless.

Hurst attorney Charles Noteboom said he also expects to file a lawsuit on behalf of Severin Sampson, another worker who was hurt at the stadium. Sampson said in an earlier interview that he suffered a hairline fracture of the skull from falling ice.
"We're waiting to find out what type of recovery he's going to have," Noteboom said. "It looks like it's permanent brain damage."

This is at least the third lawsuit pending against those involved in organizing or managing this area's first Super Bowl.
A federal lawsuit was filed by fans who were inconvenienced when some seats for the game couldn't be completed in time for kickoff.
Another federal lawsuit was filed by an activist who was forced to move his bus — covered with advertising and promotional signs — from a nearby parking lot for violating a temporary "clean zone."
