Trial and appellate law firm Godwin Ronquillo PC has opened a Houston office to focus on civil litigation and appeals.

The new office, which officially opened Monday, is located at 4 Houston Center in downtown.

Alan York, administrative shareholder, will head the office. More hires are expected in the coming year.

"Godwin Ronquillo has many long-standing relationships with clients in Houston," said Donald Godwin, chairman and CEO of the Dallas-based firm. "Alan's strong presence in the local legal and business communities make him a perfect choice to lead our efforts in Houston."

York is chair of Godwin Ronquillo's appellate section and former chair of the Houston Bar Association appellate practice section. He has also served as a council member of the State Bar of Texas appellate practice section.
